Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 24th that it held an inception meeting at the Vietnam Asset Management Corporation (VAMC) for the “Revamping Vietnam Online NPL Trading Platform Project.” The project is part of a KOICA grant initiative, through which KAMCO and Shinhan DS formed a consortium to upgrade VAMC’s online non-performing loan (NPL) trading system. The project was selected in KOICA’s public-private partnership competition in May and secured approximately KRW 2.5 billion in funding. Through this project, KAMCO will apply its extensive expertise in NPL resolution and its operational experience with the Onbid platform to help establish a more advanced, transparent, and efficient digital system for NPL transactions in Vietnam. "This project marks KAMCO's first overseas system-development project and will make a meaningful contributuion to advancing Vietnam's NPL management infrastructure. Going forward, KAMCO will continue expanding international cooperation to support stability in global financial markets," said Jongkuk Yi, Executive Director for Corporate Support Group at KAMCO. Meanwhile, KAMCO has shared its expertise in NPL resolution, and state-owned property management with 57 institutions across 29 countries since 2001, including China and Thailand, while providing consulting services to government agencies as part of its efforts to promote global financial stability. |
