IPAF (International Public AMC Forum) was inaugurated in May 2013 as a nongovernmental organization in Seoul organized jointly by 7 public AMCs from 5 countries (China, Kazakhstan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam) and Asian Development Bank to meet the unprecedented demand for a common platform to share knowledge and promote common interest and investment across the region in connection with financial stability. Since then, it has grown into Asia's exclusive Public AMC and Deposit Insurers Forum with 18 strong member institutions from 8 countries.
The Forum particularly focuses on the dissemination and impartation of a set of business and investment strategies, experiences and knowledge of the public AMCs that have helped the countries safeguard their economies from various scales of economic and financial turmoil and the sharing of nonperforming asset and loan information, thus spurring training, consultation and cross-border investment from both public and private sectors led by Asian Development Bank.
