Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO), under the leadership of Chairman & CEO Jeong Hoon Jeong, conducted a three-day capacity-building workshop on “Non-Performing Loan (NPL) Management Strategies” for SEACEN member countries from May 4 to May 6 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Established in 1966, SEACEN aims to facilitate information sharing and joint research among Asian central banks, with Korea participating since 1990.

At SEACEN’s request, KAMCO organized this workshop to impart effective NPL management techniques and stable operation methods of Asset Management Companies (AMCs) to member country representatives.

 Specifically, KAMCO shared insights on:

  • Establishing legal and institutional frameworks for effective AMC operations

  • Systematic strategies for managing NPLs

  • Measures to develop and invigorate the NPL market

The organization aims to strengthen cooperation with central banks from 19 countries in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. This initiative not only disseminates Korea’s financial stability expertise globally but also aims to expand the foundation for Korean financial services’ international presence.

Jeong Hoon Jeong, President of KAMCO, stated, “KAMCO’s accumulated experience in NPL management is a vital asset for the development of the Asian financial market. We will continue collaborating with international organizations and financial authorities to achieve tangible financial stability results.”
