In July of 2023, a consultation team from KAMCO traveled to Quito, Ecuador. The purpose was to conduct a feasibility study regarding the establishment of a state-owned property management IT system. The funding for this endeavor came from the IDB, headquartered in Washington D.C., USA. The objective of this effort was to enhance the capacity of SETEGISP, an Ecuadorian government entity, aiming for long-term financial self-sustainability. Both parties reached an agreement that the revitalization of the IT system could serve as a catalyst in achieving this goal. Aside from holding meetings and conducting interviews, the KAMCO team also visited the IDB office in Quito and engaged with local IT service companies and a local KOTRA office. The current set of tasks is expected to conclude by the close of 2023, with plans to initiate the actual system installation beginning in 2024. |
